Get started in three steps
Step 1: Choose prompts to track
Prompts are conversational questions that you want AI platforms to include your brand when responding to. We simulate these prompts across AI platforms and collect multiple responses every day.Tip: Don’t limit yourself to keyword-style prompts you typically use in traditional search engines. Instead, track conversational questions that your prospects are likely to ask in AI tools.Examples:
- Traditional keyword-style search: “Best headphones”
- Conversational questions: “What are the best headphones under $500 that are good for DJ-ing?”
Definitions
- Top of Funnel: Prompts that do not mention your brand name in the question are considered “Top of Funnel.” Only top of funnel prompts are included in visibility metrics, since prompts that mention your brand will naturally include your brand in answers. Non-top of funnel prompts will still be analyzed to synthesize AI responses and summarize user takeaways.
- Top of funnel example: “What are the best bluetooth headphones for noise cancelling?”
- Non-top of funnel example: “How long do Bose bluetooth headphones last?”
- Target Persona: Every AI response is personalized to individual context. Describe the persona of the person asking the question in AI tools. For example, responses to the prompt “What are the best headphones” will differ for “Electronic musician” versus “Student looking for headphones for focus time.” You may also leave this blank.
You can add the same prompt multiple times with different target personas to see how visibility varies across different persona profiles.
Step 2: Choose AI platforms to track
Conatus currently supports visibility tracking across the following AI platforms:- ChatGPT
- Perplexity
- Google AI Overview
- Google AI Mode
- Gemini
Step 3: Choose competitors to track
Conatus will measure AI visibility and synthesize AI’s brand positioning for the competitor brands you add. A brand may be associated with multiple names (e.g., group name, product name, etc.). List all associated names in theCommon Names field.
